How to prevent Gmail from turning address into a Google Maps link

Gmail just released an update that turns any address in an email into a Google Maps link, and while that might be just dandy for any person-to-person emails, it’s not ideal for email marketing purposes. All of a sudden you’re sending traffic to Google Maps instead of your own site.

To prevent this, all you have to do is put a blank around the address, like so:

<a href=”” style=”text-decoration: none;color: #a1a1a1;font-weight: normal;”>123 Main Street, San Francisco, CA 94107
